Jomsom Muktinath Trek Info

Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a part of Annapurna Round Trek in Annapurna region and offers the mountain views and Kali Gandaki river (deepest gorge of the world) with dry desert area like Tibetan plateau. Jomsom is a town in the Annapurna Region. It is located at a height of 2800 meters. Jomsom has its own airport and from here the holy Muktinath is not very far away. Muktinath is not only a trek but a pilgrimage destination for the followers of Buddhism and Hinduism.

The Jomsom Muktinath Trek begins after we arrive in Jomsom on a flight from Pokhara. From Jomsom we trek to Kagbeni and then continue to Muktinath. At 3800 meters Muktinath is the highest altitude that this trek reaches. As we do not go to further heights, this trek is suitable for people who do not have previous trekking experience. This trek gives the opportunity to observe the famous Apple garden in Marpha village. Hot springs in Tatopani, dry land (like desert), Kali Gandaki gorge, apple garden, mountain views and holy place ‘Muktinath’ temple is the main attraction of this trek.

Day1 : Arrival in Kathmandu - (1360m) You will be warm welcomed at airport by our office representative and then you will transfer to hotel. Our staff will give brief explanation about the program. This day you can stay within the hotel or enjoy night at Thamel.
Day2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara This day, you will visit many cultural heritages, which includes some of the famous world?s heritages like Pashupatinath, Swyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath stupa and many more. You can do shopping various Nepalese cultural stuffs in this day. And Back to hotel for overnight.
Day3 : Flight to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni - (2800m) 2 hrs Trek We take a flight to Jomsom at early morning and it takes 25 minutes to reach. While we are on flight, it brings us close to the mountain of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. And after reach Jomsom, we will take our hot breakfast and then we begin our trek to Kagbeni for two hours along the Kaligandaki gorge. We do a trek with wind, the terrain and it becomes much more barren and the breeze increases. Overnight at lodge with full board of meals. BLD.
Day4 : Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath - (3800m) 5 hrs Trek This day, we will move 1000m ascend to Muktinath, which is the famous and important holy place for both Buddhist and Hindu as well. At first, we will trek through Khingar and then Jharkot, which is an impressive fortress like village. We continue our trek to Ranipauwa, where we will stay overnight. At that area, we will explore the holy places of Hindu like an eternal flame coming from natural gas next to a spring which is considered as holy place. Overnight at hotel with full board of meals. Day5 : Trek from Muktinath to Marpha - (2670m) 8 hrs Trek Today, there are two trails to get Jomsom. The first trail is the same route which we trekked up yesterday and the second trail goes via Lupra, which is an interesting and scenic trekking trail to catch Jomsom. We will get the chance to see spectacular mountains view including Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri before descend to Lupra rivers. Lupra is an isolated village with legendry. Main two Bonpo monasteries lies at their. After 6/7 hours walk, we will reach Marpha village. Marpha is famous for Apple garden place of Nepal. Another attraction of the Marpha village is ancient Thakali community village and typical architecture. Houses of the village are flat roofs and white wasted color. Overnight at lodge with BLD.
Day6 : Trek from Marpha to Ghasa - (2010m) 7 hrs Trek After breakfast, we move ahead to Ghasa through the interesting village of Khobang with narrow trail. We will have lunch at Larjung or continues one and half hour more to Kokhethanti. After a few hours trek we reach at Kalapani from where we can see the views of Annapurna and Fang peaks. And after a little ascend and descend trek from Lete, we will reach to Ghasa. Overnight at Lodge with full board of meals.
Day7 : Trek from Ghasa to Tatopani (natural hot spring) - (1190m) 6 hrs Trek This day, trail goes down to the Kali Gandaki gorge. Kali Gandaki is the deepest gorge in the world which is situated between the Annapurna (8091m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) peaks. And then, the trail begins gently down to Rupchechhara waterfall. Rupchechhara is the beautiful waterfall of Nepal, where you can take a picture of the waterfall and move ahead to Tatopani. Tato means 'hot' and pani is 'water', a name earned courtesy of the hot springs by the river. Tatopani is one of the popular shorter trek spot out of Pokhara. Overnight guest house with full board of meals.
Day8 : Trek from Tatopani to Shikha - (1935m) 5 hrs Trek After breakfast, we follow the Kali Gandaki trail about 10 minutes crossing a suspension bridge & next in few minute again old suspension bridge encounters with us. As the trail drops up through Durbin Danda, the hills are extensively terraced. Sikha is a large village with shops and hotels, from there the trail ascends gently to Ghara at 1705m. The trail makes a Ascend steeply to Shikha and overnight at lodge with BLD.
Day9 : Trek from Shikha to Ghorepani - (2750m) 5 hrs Trek The trails continue ascend to Ghorepani via Chitre. Day brings you through greenery scenic terraces & villages, Rhododendron forest as well. March April will be colorful with blooming rhododendron. This flower is National flower of Nepal. The last 10 minutes lead you the trail with steeply ascending through roots of Rhododendron then reach you Ghorepani. It's huge settlement with hotels & lodges as well as shops. Overnight at lodge with full board of meals. BLD.
Day10 : Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Tadapani - (3210m) This morning, we will get up early and hike to Poon Hill 3210m. From here you will see a superb view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. After visiting Poonhill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at guesthouse inclusive full board meals.
Day11 : Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk - (1950m) 4 hrs Trek The Ghandruk trail descends steeply through forests to the village of Ghandruk 1950m where we will arrive around noon. We will enjoy the views of waterfalls, landscapes, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Fishtail and many more so have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office and museum. You can also move descend to Seauli Bazar for 2 hours more. And overnight at lodge with full board of meals. BLD.
Day12 : Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and Pokhara - (827m) 4 hrs Trek This day, mostly we walk down where trail set up by stone stairs. It is nature beauty scenery of rice field with villages along the trail. The last two hours trail follows Modi River. At Birethati, we meet a junction for Ghorepani before cross the bridge. There is a check post for your permit & TIMS card. Thus, trail still continue for half an hour more to reach Nayapul where we take a car or jeep then drive to Pokhara, approximately one & half hour along the scenic scenery via Kande, Naudanda. Around the Naudanda, you can see Pokhara valley with beautiful Fewa Lake. Overnight Hotel {BB}.
Day13 : Drive back to Kathmandu - 7 hrs Drive After our breakfast, we take a drive to Kathmandu or take a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Day14 : Departure to your destination Today is your departure day, we will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and pray for your Safe journey.
