Trip Overview

Makalu base camp trek is one of the far east trekking of Nepal. Mount Makalu, at a height of 8463m, is the fifth highest mountain in the world. This trek takes us to the Base Camp of this majestic peak. The peak lies in the Makalu Barun National Park, which covers an area of 2330 sq. km. The park that spreads around the Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha districts of Nepal, is rich in terms of wildlife and vegetation. The elusive mountain snow man, known as Yeti has also been reportedly seen in this area.

During the Makalu Base Camp Trek, we follow a trail that begins from a relative lowland and the leads us up to the height of 5,000 meters. The Makalu Base Camp is the highest point that we reach in this trek. This trek can be both easy and demanding, depending upon your level of physical fitness. However, we will always be there to help you with whatever we can to make your trek successful. The views of the highest mountain in the world such as Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Chamlang, Makalu and other mountains are waiting to the travelers while on the way.

Trip begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar of Mid-eastern Nepal for half an hour’s.
