Trip Overview

Mardi Himal Trekking is one of the alternative and unspoiled trekking routes of Annapurna Himalayan region. It is located east of the Modi river, across the valley of Hiunchuli. Pristine mountain views, beautiful valleys, mixed local culture and landscape hills are the attraction of the trek. Mardi Himal Trekking moderate you an off the beaten track and take away from busy trails. The first attempt of Mardi Himal was made in 1961 route via East Flank and it is the only used so far. Only camping or tented trekking is possible to do in relevant areas. The trek is one of the bitten Eco-tourism based trekking destinations in beautiful Annapurna region. 

Mardi Himal Trekking begins from Phedi after an hour drive from Pokhara. Along the trail, you will be welcomed by magnificent views of the world’s famous and most beautiful mountains including Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri, (8167m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Fishtail (6988m). This trek is a unique experience for the travelers with humming and friendliness activities of local people and trails venture into the thick forest. We move ascend through traditional villages, pristine oak and rhododendron forest to an alpine campsite.

The trek to Mardi Himal is not particularly well marked and accommodation is limited so a guide is advisable or at least bookings along the way. The upper reaches of the track, in particular the last section to Mardi Himal base camp, are where a guide is very useful. These require knowledge of the track and mountain experiences as certain sections are tricky. Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu - (1335m)After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in medieval and modernized Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our office representative and transferred to the hotel. After check in and some refreshments, our senior Sherpa guide will come to meet you and give you a brief orientation about Annapurna Base Camp Trek. You can then go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with the neighborhood, have supper and go to bed. This is your first overnight in the valley of temples and cows, probably the most in the world.
Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara - (820m) 6/7hrs DriveAfter breakfast, we leave our hotel early morning for a drive with scenic views along the road to Pokhara via Prithivi national highway. The drive could take roughly 7-8 hrs to reach Pokhara. We also have the option for a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara for 35 minutes. We will visit some prime spots in the lake city after refreshing at our hotel we will do a tour of some beautiful places in Pokhara that include Davids fall (if we reach early by road), and the Phewa Lake etc. we then do an overnight at our hotel by the lake in the lovely ‘city of lakes’ on BB Plan.
Day 3 : Trek to Deurali-(2100m) 3 hrs walkAfter breakfast we take an hour drive to Kande from your Pokhara hotel. Then we begin our first day hike towards Deaurali (2100m) by ascending an hour up to Australian camp (2060m). Then after, trail goes downhill to Pothana. We take a break at Pothana for lunch. Subsequently, we stretch our uphill walk after lunch for today’s destination – Deaurlai. Overnight at Deaurali.
Day 4 : Trek to Forest Camp - (2600m) 5 hrs walkToday’s trail goes through enchanted forest of oak, rhododendron, birch and hemlock. From Deaurali, we follow off the beaten path exploring enlivening glimpse of mount Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. After four hours adventurous walk will reaches us at Forest camp (2600m) for overnight. You can see spectacular and closer views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range from the top of Forest camp.
Day 5 : Trek to Low Camp - (2990m) 3 hrs walkToday’s trek to Low camp is shorter steep walk which is about 3 hours and it goes through green forest and the scenery of snow capped Himalayas makes your trip more attractive such as sacred Mt. Machhapuchhere, Mardi Himal and the Annapurna south. Lodges at Low camp are very common. Overnight at Low camp with full board meals.
Day 6 : Trek to High Camp - (3580m) 3 hrs walkToday is a bit long day hike to High camp from Low camp. After breakfast, we again hike through jungle about one hour and the trek goes onto the open ride with stunning mountains views including Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m.) and Mt. Annapurna south (7,219m.) at left side of your trail. After approx 6 hours walk then we will reach High camp where we overnight at lodge with full board meals.
Day 7 : Exploration Day : hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 m) and return to High Camp - (3580m) 6-7 hrs walk Today is a rest day hike at high camp. In our rest day, we walk to base camp of Mardi Himal (4500m) to explore Mount Mardi more closely and feel the essence of beautiful Himalayas. It is about 6 hours hike to base camp and then trek back to high camp for night stay.
Day 8 : Trek to Sidhing - (1850m) 6 hrs
Day 9 : Trek to Lumre (3 hrs walk) and drive to Pokhara (3 hrs drive)
Day10 : Drive back to KathmanduWhile driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, we head up to Damauli, Dumre, Mugling and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach Manakamana Temple, this is a temple where most Nepalese come to have their wishes granted before leaving home or getting married. From Naubise we climb up to Thankot, the gateway to Kathmandu and finally reach our hotel & a lovely soft warm bed and farewell dinner in typical Nepali restaurant with cultural dance program.
Day11 : Kathmandu SightseeingThe capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, being the historical and cultural heart of the country, is a popular destination for tourists, trekkers and other types of adventure seekers. The city is a marvelous amalgamation of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western cultures and influences. Patan and Bhaktapur are its two major neighboring cities. These two cities, like Kathmandu, have a rich historical, cultural and religious legacy which is reflected in the many temples, monuments and artifacts that they contain. You will be taken on a half-day guided tour of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur cities. In Kathmandu, you will be visiting Pashupatinath, the most famous and revered Hindu shrine in the country; Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Soyambhunath, which contains both Buddhist and Hindu shrines and stands as testimony to the religious harmony that exists in the country; and the 15th-century 55-window palace in Bhaktapur. An orientation session for the trek, which commences the following day, will be organized in the evening.
Day12 : Departure DayAfter breakfast and our last day in Kathmandu, our vehicle and escorts will be on standby to drop you to the international airport three hours before our scheduled flight back home.
