Trip Overview

Nepal Heritage Tour takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are located in three districts, namely Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. It showcases you mountains, heads off to Chitwan National Park, takes you to the middle of the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and leads you to Tansen and Pokhara, the favorite destinations of tourists.

Pokhara that you visit has lakes in the backdrop of the Annapurna Ranges. Besides seeing these, you visit Bindabasini temple, world peace stupa, and mountain museum.

Tansen is also a place that you visit and is a beautiful hill station, perched on the Srinagar Hill; it offers you a spectacular view of the Himalayas as well as those of the plain region. It is famous for various kinds of handicrafts.

Pashupatinath temple, which you visit is built in the Nepalese pagoda style and has roofs, made of copper and gold. On the other hand, Patan, which has Patan Durbar Square, is one of the oldest Buddhist cities. The famous places of Patan that you explore are temples, religious shrines, and historical places. Unlike Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath has a dome like structure at its base, above which you see a cubical structure. This structure has painted eyes of Buddha. However, Kathmandu Durbar Square has a living goddess called Kumari, the incarnation of Durga.

Of all, the most important historical heritage sites of Nepal that you visit during the tour are the Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and the monasteries. And when it comes to the exploration of natural site, Chitwan National Park offers you an opportunity to ride on elephant and takes you near to wild animals, such as one – horned rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, langur monkeys, wild boar, sloth bear, jungle cats, pythons, crocodiles, deer, etc.

Itinerary

Day1 : Arrival Kathmandu and transferred to Hotel, free dayWelcome to Kathmandu, the city of temples. Our airport representative will receive you at the airport, transfer you to the hotel and brief you about tomorrow’s activities. If you have any questions, then please ask to a representative. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.
Day2 : Sightseeing in Swyambhunath, Kathmandu durbar square & then drive to Nagarkot.After breakfast, our city guide will take you to the monuments and places that come under the category of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. You will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you might see "Kumari", the living goddess, as well as visit pagoda style temples. Day3 : Drive to Telkot and walk about 2hrs to changu Narayan and drive to Bhakatapur for sightseeing then drive to Namo BoudhaAs you trek from Telkot to Changu Narayan, you enjoy breathtaking view. When you reach Changunarayan temple, one ofthe oldest temples in the Valley of Kathmandu, you find it beautiful because it is adorned with stone, wood, and metal. From this temple, you head off to Namo Boudha by bus. In Namo Boudha, you visit Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. Day4 : Visit Patan, Khokana and BungmatiAfter having breakfast, you drive towards Patan. Patan Durbar Square is one of the important UNESCO world heritage sites. This square is an ancient royal palace of Lalitpur kings and is a marvel of Newari architecture. The main attractions of this palace are Krishna temple, Bhimsen temple, Taleju Bhawani temple and Bishwonath temple. Then, you head off to Khokona, which is a village, and which represents the richness of the early Malla era (13th century). About 4471 indigenous people inhabit in Khokana. The people of this village are involved in making wooden handicrafts. Tourists buy these handicrafts. Khokona also has a museum where you find typical jewelry sets and agriculture farming tools. Day5 : Sightseeing to Pashupatinath, Bouddha & Kopan monasteryAfter having breakfast, our city guide will take you to the monuments and places that come under the category of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. You will visit Pashupatinath temple, one of the biggest and popular Hindus temples of Nepal and thousands of devotees visit this temple everyday. You might see cremation taking place on the bank of the Bagmati River. From here, you move towards Bouddhanath stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, where over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries are located. From there, you head off to Kopan Monastery, which has become especially famous for teaching Buddhism to the foreigners. It is perched on the Kopan Hill and has become a popular recreational destination for the locals and the tourists. Back to the hotel for overnight with bed and breakfast.
Day6 : Drive to Chitwan and particiate on Tharu culture dance in the evening After having breakfast, you head off to Chitwan National Park. There, you will be briefed about jungle tour. There, you will also visit the visitor’s centre, as well as see the sunset view from the Rapti River. In the evening, you attend the cultural dance of the Tharu community. Day7 : Jungle safari activities in Chitwan National ParkAfter breakfast, your jungle activities include the following: Elephant ride, jungle walk, and boating in the Rapti River to see birds and crocodiles. Stay overnight at hotel with full-board meal.
Day8 : Drive to Lumbini and transfer to hotelAfter breakfast, you head off to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The bus moves along the bank of the Trishuli River and follows the road that has traversed small hills and villages. Most of the time, the road enters a zone, which abounds with green vegetation. It is a 4 hours journey, and the approximate distance is 202 km. Upon arrival in Lumbini, you check -into a hotel. Lumbini is a small, beautiful town. Overnight at hotel with bed and breakfast.
Day9 : Lumbini sightseeingLumbini is a holy pilgrimage, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the main attractions of Lumbini is the Ashoka pillar, which was built by the Indian Emperor, Ashoka, and which has an inscription, mentioning that Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini in Nepal. Maya Devi Temple is another attraction of Lumbini and is more than 3000 years old. Maya Devi was the mother of Lord Buddha. Other attractions are beautiful monasteries built by different Buddhist a countries like China, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. Overnight stay at hotel, breakfast included.
Day10 : Drive to Tansen PalpaAfter having breakfast, you move from Lumbini to Tansen via Bhairawa and Butwal. Overnight stay at hotel, breakfast included.
Day11 : Explore day around Tansen PalpaRanighat is a marvelous building, built on the bank of the Kaligandaki River in the memory of Queen Tej Kumari. There are altogether 25 rooms and 52 artistic windows. It presents a very wonderful view. After looking at this grand masterpiece of architecture in such a remote area, you may imagine it as a creation of super natural power. Overnight stay at hotel, breakfast included.
Day12 : Drive to PokharaAfter breakfast, you head offto Pokhara. The distance is 129 km, and it is a 4-hour journey. Overnight stay at hotel, breakfast included.
Day13 : Full day Pokhara sightseeingAfter breakfast, you do a full day sightseeing of Pokhara. This includes walking along the David falls and Mahendra cave, bank of the Fewa lake, mountain views, and visit to Bindabasini temple, world peace stupa, and mountain museum. Overnight stay at hotel, breakfast included.
Day14 : Drive to KathmanduAfter breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Back to the HOTEL FOR overnight with bed and breakfast.
Day15 : Departure day Our airport representative will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport in a private car. You will reach the airport before 3 hours of your departure time. Meals Include: Breakfast
