Trip Overview

Trekking in Rolwaling is one of Nepal’s finest high mountain valleys west of the Khumhu, directly on the Tibetan frontier. Rolwaling Valley is reputed to be the home of the infamous Yeti. “Rolwaling” which is called simply “the grave” by the indigenous Sherpa’s in related with its location – buried down between steep ice-giants. It offers romantic mountain views, diverse flora and fauna and rich local cultures. One feature of Rolwaling trekking is requires a good walking experience and a good physical form because here trekkers have to cross adventurous 5755m mountain pass called Tashi Lapcha. We approach the valley through the Tamang and Chetri villages, their typical terraced fields, through dense, gloomy primeval forest, local cultures and over broad bridge with wonderful views.
