Trip Overview

Tamang Heritage Trekking in Nepal is the perfect way to live out your childhood dreams of wild journeying. Tamang heritage trekking has towering peaks, abundant forests, hanging bridges and random snow leopard sightings. This eight-day itinerary is a great introduction to the beautiful Langtang region and the culture of Tamang community. It gives a chance to be closed to the Tibet border. This border called Timure border. You can also see the trading route of Tibet-Nepal from where two countries import and export goods.

During this Tamang heritage trekking, you will discover a rough Tibetan history and the influence of Tibetan culture in this region. The local people are mostly Buddhists who depend on agriculture and trade to make a living. Their dresses are colorful and their houses are decorated with stunning woodcarvings. Apart from an insight into the Tibetan way of life, it also offers stunning views of the Himalayan snow-capped mountains to make this journey unforgettable.

This route offers the trekkers to observe Syabru, Mane and other local dances at Goljung, Brimdang and Gatlang village, which are situated nearby the Tibetan boarder. The people of these villages also sell exclusive handicraft items like traditional caps, mufflers and other items. At Briddim, one can experience the famous Tamang hospitality, where there is home stay facility in two dozen houses. After the Tamang Heritage trail we will head for a couple of days towards the narrow Langtang valley to the Kyanjing Gompa at 3,900m along the Langtang Khola (river) enjoying with mountains splendor vista. Our trekking ends at same point from where the trip had begun; either Dhunche of Syabru benshi then drive back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) : After you land at Tribhuwan International airport, you will be welcomed by our office representative. As he will be holding your name plate, it will be easy for you to recognize him. Then after, he will transfer you to the hotel. You can freshen up and have some walk around Thamel. At the evening our guide will give some briefing about our trek and routes. Overnight at hotel inclusive Breakfast.
Day 2 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing To make your trip more memorable, we will take you to have some sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. We will be visiting some historical and cultural places. Our program includes sightseeing around Swyambhunath stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Kathmandu durbar square. Swyambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa are famous Buddhist holy places whereas Pashupatinath temple is famous Hindu holy site. Similarly Kathmandu durbar square carries historical values. You can also have some shopping of Nepalese product. Overnight at hotel inclusive breakfast.
Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubensi (1400m) Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Beshin which takes about seven hours by public bus/jeep. We start to north out of Kathmandu valley along the scenic foothills. While passing along the road at the bank of Trisuli River you can have a sight of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. Overnight at guest house on full board.
Day 4 : Trek to Ghatlang (2,238m) 5/6 hrs Trekking starts with ascending approximately for about one & half an hour reaches to top. After we reach the top, we can see an incredible mountains view of Ganesh Himal, Goljang valley & range of the Gosaikunda. Then we will continue trekking down into Goljang valley where we stop for lunch. We need to walk about next three hours to reach to Gatlang the owners of the lodges there welcomes the visitors by offering Khata & some local alcoholic {called Raksi} drinks just a little to taste. This is a kind of tradition of the Tamang people. Ghatlang is a Tamang village famous for the hospitality. Overnight at lodge on full course of meals.
Day 5 : Trek to Tatopani (2,607m) 6/7 hrs walk Trek begins by descending to Thanhbuchet . We follow the trail above the Bhotekoshi River and stop for lunch at Thangbuchet which is nearby Chilime. We can see Chilime hydropower in Chilime which is one of the biggest hydropower dams of Nepal. After lunch trek begins climbing up hill & crossing the bridge. We will then climb up to Tatopani {hot spring} lodge. You can take a bath in this hot spring. And have some relaxation. Overnight at lodge on full course of meals.
Day 6 : Trek to Nagthali (3,300m) 3 hrs walk The route today is easy and short, so the walk will not be exhausting. A trek start with ascending to Nagthali .Nagthali is marvelous grassland which offers you the view of snow capped Himalayas. At the time till lunch, we will be there at Nagthali. You can either stay at Nagthali or head ahead to Thuman. It is the meaningful to stop here at Nagthali to witness the views of mountains and sunset & sunrise by climbing a little hill 3,300m where we can also see monastery. Overnight at lodge on full course of meals.
Day 7 : Trek to Thuman (2,338m) 3 hrs walk This is also a short day where we will stop at Thuman. Since, Tamang heritage trails are mostly steeply ascends and descends, it is better to make short journeys and enjoy talking with the people and knowing about their culture. People from Thuman will entertain you by singing and dancing. If you want then you can also join with them. They will help you feel homely with their friendly environment. Overnight at lodge on full course of meals.
Day 8 : Trek to Birdim (2,229m) 5/6 hrs walk It is about hours trek to reach to Briddim. The trial goes through Lingling village with the views of rhododendron forests and meadows on the way. Briddim is a Tibetan influenced village on the lap of Langtang Himal. We can visit Dukchu Gomba in Briddim. Briddim is a Tibetan influenced village on the lap of Langtang Himal, mostly inhabited by the people of Tibetan origin.
Day 9 : Trek to Syabru Besi 3 hrs walk : Today, mostly trails follows down via Wangel along the scenic villages as well as farming land. It is wonderful surrounding hills. This day, we can drive to Kathmandu if we have pre-arranged after ending trek by private jeep or bus as wish group size. Overnight at hotel on full course of meals.
Day10 : Drive back to Kathmandu After breakfast, we will take Jeep or local bus drives from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. After we reach Kathmandu, you will be taken to hotel. You can refresh and have some rest. You can have some visit around Thamel at night for your refreshment. We will have a farewell Nepali cousin dinner at Thamel. Overnight at hotel.
Day11 : Departure to your destination Today is your departure day, we will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and pray for your Safe journey.
