Trip Overview

tsum valley trekking
Tsum valley trekking

Tsum valley is famously known as “hidden valley”,  with unique characteristics of mystery, myth & majestic beauty… this is a  swashbuckling trek that takes you into the true wild…Literally, Tsum comes from Tibetan word ‘Tsombo’ which means vivid and its people known as Tsumba who spoke an exceptional language. Tsum valley preserves its prehistoric Buddhist culture. In 2008, Tsum valley was a limited area until it was opened for trekking. Similarly, Tsum valley is also considered as home to the legendary and indefinable yetis. The Buddhist saint Milarepa was supposed to have meditated in mountainous caves. Traditionally, the valley was a cultural part of geography; which means thirteen provinces ruled autonomously. Because of its detachment and inaccessibility, this sacred valley and its people have been bypassed by normal progress. Tsum valley trekking takes you to the hallowed Himalayan pilgrimage valley situated in northern Gorkha behind Mt Manaslu with magnificent and clear views of the Ganesh Himal (7422m), Sringi Himal (7187m) and Buddha himal(6672m). It is rich in Tibetan art, culture and religion which make it a distinctive destination. The Tsum valley trails are sprinkled with artistic Chortens and creased with small walls & the traditions of this valley has remained unchanged till this day…

Initially, our trip starts from Kathmandu. We cruise down to Arughat. But our trekking starts and ends from Arughat. We cross half of the route by the banks of Budi Gandaki River. The elegant views of beautiful forest, terraced fields and hilly villages can be seen hiking beside the Budi Gandaki River. In addition, the path goes through alpine forest, pristine glacial rivers and warm friendly peoples. Passing through Machhakhola, Jagat and Philim and other beautiful vibrant villages we reach the gorgeous Tsum valley where we can enjoy its natural beauty. On our way back, we follow the same path to return to Kathmandu.

This trek is suitable for those with limited time but some guests need a long holiday to keep the mind in tune. Should you require a shorter program, please do let us know, we’ll be glad to help you…
